CHRISTMAS TOY DRIVE

During the Christmas season the Youth and Service & Outreach Ministry's are collecting new, unwrapped and age-appropriate gifts for the K-5 students in the Linkages to Learning program at the Wheaton Woods ES site. This is an opportunity for members to share our blessings and to ease the financial and time burdens of some of our neighbors in Aspen Hill community. Donations are being collected in the Narthex through Sunday, December 19.

Blankets to Keep Warm Collection

We are still collecting "clean" (please) gently used or new blankets during the winter months of 2011. We all know how cold it is this winter, especially those of us who have lost power for a few days. There are people in our community without the resources to pay for utilities or buy things we take for granted such as blankets. Children can't learn in school if they did not have a good night sleep because they were cold at home, and their parents may be too tired to keep a job or may be too impatient/harsh with their children because they do not get a good night sleep because they are too cold in their home. Let's take advantage of any sales and pick up a blanket or two or more and donate them to this collection. They will be donated to the community through Linkages to Learning. Any size will be accepted.
